Tips for Taking it Outside

Tips for a Smoke-Free Home and Car

  • Take the pledge! Stop smoking in your home and car, and don’t allow others to compromise the air quality of your home and car by lighting up. Hang your pledge on the fridge as a reminder to yourself and others.
  • Ask smokers to move away from doors and windows when they smoke outdoors so the smoke does not drift back inside.
  • Deep clean your carpets, rugs, drapes, furniture, and walls to remove any residue chemicals.
  • Give clothing and jackets a good cleaning at a dry-cleaner or in the laundry.
  • Remove the lighter from your vehicle as a signal to that your car is a smoke-free place.
  • Encourage your loved ones to quit smoking to protect not only the health of their loved ones but their own health.
